What is Print Media?
Print media is any written form of communication, these can either be seen in a printing format, photocopying format or even digital methods. Once copy is made it leads to a chain effect, this means that once one copy is complete multiple copies can be made through a automated process. There are multiple types of print media, these include newspapers, magazines, billboards, letters, print media selection. Below this piece of text there are image related examples. By looking at these particular images it is expanding my knowledge in the area. In this project i will be creating my own print media source, so looking at all areas i can explore into will give me an in depth look and also allow me to reach a conclusion on the specific area that i would like to venture down.

Here we have a Print media source, i decided to take a more in depth look at this particular example this was due to the way the source inspired me
and gave me some inspiration for when i create a Print
Media source myself. One of the main points that captures
me in this example is the bold font and also the bold
imagery. By using these the newspaper is enticing you in
and even if you was to see this newspaper from a distance
due to the boldness of each area it really captures your
attention. This is something that could be used when
creating my own i find it so important to have a bold theme
because without it i find that when someone looks at it
you need something to make them want to read it.
The subject on the newspaper is clear to see, this can be
seen by the imagery. Without looking at any words you
can tell straight away what this newspaper is going to be
about. Although i find this newspaper to have some strong
quality's i still find that it lacks some too. Like every
newspaper there isn't enough colour, i find that with
newspapers they express the matter in words not imagery.
With my own Print media source i want to be able to
express the subject matter in both imagery and words. Therefore giving it an equal balance, i don't know about others but i find it nice to have images that accompany the words, this is because it provides a solid way to imagine what the words are trying to explain.
This form of Print media is similar to the previous one i reviewed. This form of Print media is along the lines of what i would like to accomplish in this
project. Looking at this magazine it is clear to see what
the topic of the magazine is. Much like the previous
Print media source the magazine uses bold font and
amazing imagery to create the topic of the magazine.
As well as using a bold font and imagery the magazine
uses bright colours to point out the important information.
This is something that could be used in my own Print
media source. Like i mentioned previously using bold text
can catch someone's eye but by using bold text and bright
colours it can catch their eye even more. Another area that
i like about this magazine is the fact the image is over-
lapping the main title. Although the image is covering the
main title you are still able to make out what the magazine
is about. This is where linking imagery to the main idea
comes into play. If i was to design this magazine cover
again i would think about changing the coloured font at the
top of this page. Due to the colour of the main focus
point the text that is overlapping the image is harder to read than the rest. I can understand what the designer is trying to promote but changing the colour to a colour that doesn't clash would help it stand out so much more.
This form of Print media is completely different to the examples i have previously been reviewing. Instead of the Print media being broadcasted
to a wide viewing this form of Print media is individual
only two people get to view it. Looking at this form of
Post card it is clear to see that the person buying it
is a tourist. The person could of been drawn to the
bright colours used and also the atmosphere the image
possess. As you can see in one of the images there
are some fire works going off, this image makes you
want to be there. This provides me with an idea for my
own Print media. By using images that promote a feeling
it will make the viewer want to read on and see what
other feelings they can obtain from my Print media. An
important factor i want to accomplish is not making
my Print media flooded with text i find sometimes when i read things i need a break from reading text and in that break i could be looking at images that are located by that text. Another beneficial factor of including images that promote the main subject of the text means the Print media i do create can be read by a much larger target audience. Some people who are younger might struggle to read some words so by using images they can understand what the text promotes. If i was the designer behind this Post card i would focus my time on making the images and text look bolder. I would keep the original image but by making the images bolder you are some what making them pop from the page and also by adding bolder text you will know exactly what the post card entails.
