Peer Assessment
Peer Assessment provides a structural learning process for not only me but my other class mates. It allows us to critique and provide feedback to each other on their own work. It helps us develop skills in assessing and providing feedback to one another. It also helps us with skills to self assess and improve on our own work. A peer assessment is important, as it allows people to receive constructive criticism, without peer assessment we might be missing a key portion of our work and we wouldn't even know about it. Another good feature about peer assessments is that provides improvements to one another's work. As we know there is always room for improvements in anything we do, so getting that secondary look on your work can really come in handy sometimes.
My own Peer Review
To start the peer review process i was partnered up with a fellow class mate. We started off by sending each other our wix links. Then we moved onto going through each others websites and thought of 3 WWW and 3 EBI. Just in case you can't read the image below this is the feedback that i received from my partner.-
www: showed great experience and knowledge of analysing, research and designing. Research and analysis is in depth and thorough. Designs are expert, clean and well made. Ebi: I think you could do more development with the creation of your final idea. It seemed you chose one idea and was set on it instead of doing lots and choosing the best one.
I was really happy with this feedback and the EBI will be an improvement that will be made. I found it important to do a Peer review because without it i wouldn't of known that i had to show additional development of my final idea. This will enable me to improve my logo design and also enable me to have a higher grade logo as my finished product. The feedback that i provided my partner with was as follows.-
WWW- You have gathered a wide range of primary and secondary research, therefore it will help you when designing. Your sketches are precise, this will help when designing your label as you will always have something to look back on. Finally, you showed an in depth look at the competitor research. This means that you know how the competitors display there designs therefore you can make something completely different and unique. EBI- When it comes to annotating the developing your logo portion, you could add some extra annotations. For example if you was to do it again what would you do differently. When going through your design process document new skills that you learn. Finally, for your background design it would be interesting to see if you could come up with a new design something completely different to the rest. Overall a really solid wix website. Should be happy with that.
This being the second peer assessment i have done, i was really happy with the feedback that i provided. I wanted to make sure that the feedback was worth while and beneficial to my partner. If i was to give my partner the standard amount of feedback and not go in depth about it. I think my partnered would of struggled and wouldn't of known what to improve when it comes to his wix website. If i was to do this peer assessment again i don't think i would change anything, as you can see i have received feedback that involves me adding additional improvements to my work so the only change that would be happening would be to the work i have created prior to this peer assessment.
My Own Peer Review Recorded
In this video you will be able to hear me and my partner discussing our work through the means of a video call. When recording a
video call there can be multiple problems
that you could encounter. For example, you
might not know how to start the recording
of the video call. So without that knowledge
you won't be able to evidence the
communication you have had with another
person. Another problem you might
encounter is someone being loud on either
end of the call. It takes one loud looping
noise in the background to get in the way
of hearing what your partner might have to
say. The first problem could be avoided
by looking up the solution online or even
asking a fellow class mate. The second problem could be solved by either going into a quite room or even using a headset. With a headset there is more chance of the microphone not picking up noises around the speaker. You would normally find microphones only pick up the sound made by the person speaking into it. Overall i think the recording went really well and i wouldn't change much about it. This recording session has helped my in this project as it has shown me areas that still need improving. As you might of heard in the call my partner identified some areas that need improving. So without holding this call those areas might not of got improved as in my perspective all my work was completed, with no improvements. So hearing this information going forward i will show more steps to my design plan instead of just focusing on one main design i like.
