What is In-Design used for ?
Source:https://www.agitraining.com/adobe/indesign/classes/what-is-indesign
In-Design is a desktop publishing software used to create flyers, brochures, magazines and newspapers. Projects created in In-Design can be shared both in digital and print formats. In-Design is an industry-standard for publishing design and is used by graphics and marketing professionals. It may be used in conjunction with other applications that are part of the Adobe Creative Cloud including Illustrator and Photoshop, or it can be used on its own. Images and illustrations are usually not created within In-Design, rather layouts using text, images, and drawings that often are built in other programs are assembled into a layout using In-Design.

What are brand style guidelines?
Source:https://venngage.com/blog/brand-style-guide/
A brand style guide is a rule book containing specifications on everything that plays a role in the look and feel of your brand–everything from typography and color to logos and imagery. It lets everyone know exactly how to present your brand to the world. It guides the design for all your content, from blog posts and presidential office spaces and business cards.
Why are they important to brands?

Style guiders can be support marketing initiatives by ensuring all messaging is relevant and related to your brand's goals. Referencing a brand style guides ensures that content distinguishes a brand from its competitors, and is cohesive. This cohesion is important because it helps establish a strong brand voice that resonates with the audience, that the company have obtained.
In-design Starter Tasks
The first task we was assigned to do was changing each shape and numbers onto the specific
layers. To do so you have to select the shape, then on the layer menu there will be a little coloured square, the colour of the little square should correspond with the coloured tabs surrounding the shape. Once they both match up select the little square on the layer tab, then click and drag to the designated layer and that is completed. That is how you change a shape to each specific layer. This order is very similar to when you want to move an individual object across each layer on adobe Photo-Shop and Illustrator. As you can see in the video there were a number of different shapes i had to move. I found this task very straight forward and didn't seem to have any problems when doing so.
The next task we was assigned to complete was drawing a rectangle, a square, a circle and a triangle. To go about completing this task you will first need to find the rectangle tool. This tool is located on the left of the screen and has a rectangle icon. As you can see in the video i changed the colour of the rectangle prior to me making this shape, by doing so it allows me to see the shape i am about to make. So after i have selected the rectangle tool i held down my left click and drew the shape in the area assigned. Next up we have the square, to make a square all you need to do is select the rectangle tool but hold down shift with the left click mouse button, by holding down shift it keeps the shape of a square instead of drawing another rectangle. Following the square we have a circle, to create a circle you will need to select the ellipse tool, like the square you will need to hold down shift, this keeping the structural integrity of a circle. Finally, we have a triangle, to make a triangle you will need to select the polygon tool. Once selected click once on the area you want the triangle. A pop up should appear and on the pop up it gives you the option to change the amount of sides it has. So obviously you will select three sides. That completes that task, throughout the task i didn't encounter any problems and the whole process went swimmingly.
In this task i was given the assignment to resize and change the orientation of each shape to the outline given. Starting with the rectangle. Firstly, i started with changing the orientation of the shape, to do this hover over the corner of the shape and a two ended arrow should appear. This arrow will enable you to orientate the shape to the way you want it. So for my i was at 180 degrees and i wanted to turn it 90 degree. Once i turned the shape i wanted to make it bigger so it would fit the space given. You will need to hold down shift when making the shape bigger. Holding down shift keeps the same shape but changes the orientation. Therefore making the smaller shape fit the outline provided. Next we had a square and a circle, to resize both all you have to do is hold shift, like i said earlier this makes sure the shape stays in the right proportion. I found this task quite easy, the only downside was trying to get the rectangle fit in the outline. It was hard to make sure it all lined up.
This is the final task that was completed by myself. In this task we was given a photo, and 5 little squares. What we needed to do get a colour from the image and place it in the squares. To get the colour from the image, you will need to select the eye dropper tool. To use the eye dropper tool you will need to click on the colour in the image that you would like to copy. Once selected hold down alt, while doing so click on the square that you want the colour to be placed. As you can see this places the colour into the square provided. I completed this process 4 more times and made sure each colour was different. Therefore showing you that you can select any colour you desire from the image. That concludes all the starting tasks set on in-design. I find this task challenging at points as i couldn't work out how to work the tool. But after a but of trial and area it worked. So overall i am very happy with my process throughout the starter tasks.
