There are many factors that make a bad website, these include poor or no content, Most people will be looking for information, so give them some substance. If you’re  a business, this means letting visitors know what you do and including descriptions and pictures of the products and services you offer. Loading time, People are inherently impatient. Even if you have gripping content and a gorgeously designed site, they’re not going to sit around and wait for it to load.Contact information is non existent, if customers aren’t familiar with your company, they need some reassurance that there are real people behind your website. They need to feel confident that when they place an order for something, they’ll get what they expect.Lack clear organisation, there are tow main factors that come under this heading and these are an easy to find search box and headings that stand out and easy to find. A customer doesn’t want to sit around searching for these two things. They would be better off leaving the website and finding another one. All of they above make it clear to see what makes a bad website and when it comes to making one of my own for my coursework it will be clear to see what I should include and what not to include. Overall I need to make my website appealing and user friendly.

Examples of a good website

Here is an example of a website I have found which is the apple website (URL:https://www.apple.com). The reason I chose this website was due to the simplistic design and how easy it was to navigate through the website. Apple really make each individual product pop from your screen, therefore making the user more appealed to find out more about this certain product. I believe that due to the massive following apple have received over the years they have really focused on making their website user friendly. Therefore, making an all around good website for users to scroll through easily and find out every intricate detail there is about that particular product that user is interested in.Another good website I have found is Harry’s razor website (URL:https://www.harrys.com/go/gb-sem-redeem?utm_medium=sem&utm_source=google-b&utm_campaign=&utm_content=Harry%27s+-+Exact-395_trial&gclid=CjwKCAjwh7H7BRBBEiwAPXjadrhC47apN99LSruvpHeHJGGCAcBz6jrV6f-1mZht7cSx_s3RZUWdMRoCEXYQAvD_BwE). Recently Harrys has been seen almost everywhere in every shop and every advisement, and to come with these things they have also created a website that is very easy to use I might add. It provides bright colours and a in-depth look into what each razor is like and how it can be used to fit the specific user. They also offer loads of deals, that can be found effortlessly as they have included a bold title stating “Redeem Trial”. Therefore inviting users and letting them try out their product, which in my eyes is something that is not commonly found with similar companies. They also provide a subscription service that can be easily found when navigating through the website. The final website offers users an engaging one page layout, this website offers insurance and is called Lemonade (URL:https://www.lemonade.com/de/en) The one page layout is very similar to many social media pages, therefore creating a easy to use and easy to navigate website. The website also offers a chatbot which customers can talk to if they have any problems or enquires. The chat box feels like you are talking to a human therefore making the whole ordeal a much more user friendly situation.

Examples of a Bad Website

The first bad website I have found tanks about replacing your old bath tub, it is called ugly tub (URL: http://uglytub.com/). This website doesn’t really persuade you to get rid of your original bath tub. There are many factors that make this website to paining to look at it might be the poor quality imagery, the tiny fonts and the awful colours included. All of these things put together create a agonising website to look at. To improve this website I would think about changing the layout and overall make it a lot less clustered. A bit of tender loving care would do this website well and also making an easy to use task bar and search bar to help navigate through this horrendous website. The next bad website I have found is called Mr Bottles (URL: http://www.mrbottles.com/). This websites talks about bottles, the creator is obviously a bottle collecting enthusiast and wants to share is knowledge about bottles with people. The first bad thing that caught my attention when I was on this website was the red coloured font located on the home page of the website. This in some eyes might be appealing but to me it clashes with the poor quality images located behind it. Overall it causes a messy finish and not appealing to look at. If I was the creator of the website I would look to create a more simplistic website that is easy on the eye and enthusiast who visit the page can find any bottle they want without searching around the whole website endlessly. Finally, I have found a website called Jamilin (URL: http://www.jamilin.com/). The motto of the website is to help you evolve but the creator could use a little of her own advice to help sort out of her website. There are images, videos, links and adverts all collaged into the centre off the site making it hard for the suer to navigate through it. All the test and images combined make it overwhelming to the user and offers no navigation liked I mentioned above.
