Why is measuring your wrapper and recognising your design content important ?

Measuring your label is primarily the most important factor of a Wrapper design. This can be done with a ruler and pencil or other means of measuring. An important step of measuring a Wrapper is considering where the main logo is placed. The measurements needed would be how far away this main logo is from the edge of the Wrapper, you would need to measure it horizontally and vertically. Once you measure it, it will create an easier design process and also speed up the overall design time. Another factor that needs to be recognised and measured is the list of ingredients. Gathering ingredients can be very important for those who need it. On a wrapper you only have a small amount of room to work with so getting the measurements on point can be very useful. In my instance i will need to measure out all of the features on the Fanta label, this will then help me place all my own features in the correct position. If i was unable to measure the original Fanta logo i would struggle to fit everything on. I might put one feature out of place and that would mess up the rest of the Wrapper design. This is why measuring the Wrapper is so important when designing one of your own.

Fanta Label  Measurements

Fanta label measuremnts.jpg

Below you can see my own measurements of the Fanta Label. The label is built up of multiple

components. All these components need

to be carefully measured out and labelled.

By doing this it will make it easier for me

when it comes to designing my own Fanta

Label. If i didn't know these measurements

i would find it difficult to place the features

in the correct place and also without any

measurements i would find it hard to make

everything fit. The first measurements i

made where the horizontal and vertical

measurements of the label. This would then

make sure when i go in depth with the

measurements and measure out where each

feature is placed. I will have to make sure

all these measurements can be added up

to the original amount. Luckily, the measurements i had made all added up to the correct measurements. I also labelled all the features on the label this then means i can understand and plan where about these features will be placed on the label that i create. Overall i am very happy with this step, it has given me the further understanding of the Fanta label and has enabled me to further my knowledge of the features involved that create a famous label.

After finishing finding the measurements of the Fanta label i worked on creating some of my own features that will be added to the

final design of the Label. I started off by

looking up a barcode generator on the

internet, and i was able to use that

generator to build the barcode on the right

hand side of this text. When i was choosing

what barcode i wanted, i was looking for a

barcode that was a close resemblance of

the barcode that can be seen on the Fanta

bottle. After finding a compatible barcode

i then looked for a QR code that when

scanned will take you to this website you can

are reading off. This comes in handy for when

i will be going to interviews i can say to the employer that if you scan this QR code you will be

able to see all my coursework and also the design process related to this project. Finally, i made my own ingredients for the Fanta bottle. Most of the ingredients are the same the only component changed is the flavouring of the bottle. Instead of it saying Orange flavouring i changed it to say Pumpkin Spice flavouring. Overall i am very happy with the outcome of all three of these components and they should all look good when partnered with the label in the designing stage.
